(upbeat music) - Utah Insight is a weekly series from PBS Utah that examines the most pressing issues facing the state.
And here to tell us about season four is host and producer Liz Adeola.
Hi, Liz.
A pleasure to have you on.
- Hi, Mary.
Thanks for having me.
- So you start up again on the 19th it goes through the summer, that's Fridays at 7:00 p.m. And tell me about some of the issues you're tackling this time.
- Some of the issues that we're gonna be talking about this season are all the discussion around the book bands that's been happening, the opioid epidemic.
We'll be talking about sharing tips and ways to help prevent or help people come out of domestic violence issues.
And so it's a wide span of different topics this season that we're gonna dive into.
- Oh, boy.
I know.
And you never run out of topics.
There's always something.
So what's it like to go out and report on these stories and find out what's going on?
- I have to say that's my favorite part, is connecting with people and hearing their stories.
On Utah Insight, we really try to focus on the personal issues and people sharing their personal stories.
And a lot of times I can't believe some of the things that people are opening up to me about.
But I feel very, very I don't wanna say happy or special, but I appreciate the fact that people are willing to be open and transparent about the issues that they've gone through in order to try and help other people by telling their stories.
- Oh, yeah.
And I'm sure, I mean, you know this from the work you do.
I mean, it's those stories that really make all the difference.
Getting people to tell them, like you say, it's not always easy.
- Absolutely.
I'll never forget one person I interviewed was like, is this fun for you?
And I'm like, you're sharing your tragedies and terrible things that have happened.
It's not fun.
But I'll say that I learned things and that there are life lessons that other people can learn by hearing these stories as well.
- Oh, yeah.
Well, you do a wonderful job.
And thank you so much for being here.
Thanks.
- Thank you.
